and in this text there was the picture of this badge as well and have seen it on some other tunics for sale on the internet as well, damm it is so hard sometimes to find something out.
when i find the link again i post it for you
Found it by googling bits of the quoted text:

    Chronik der FF Sollenau

No mention or image of the sleeve stripes, though. Also, it's the chronicle of an Austrian Fire Brigade.

I don't know what HPL thinks, but maybe this tunic was worn throughout the war and after. Are you planning on putting an eagle, boards and tabs on it?

I do not want to and cannot comment on the tunic itself, as this is not my area of expertise. I merely answered the question about the meaning of the sleeve patch that was asked in the initial post.

I would leave it. But that's just me. Of all the branches of the German police, the fire police followed regulations the least and personal touches and self-made uniforms were everywhere. As long as they put out fires usually they did what they wanted.

Well I wouldn't say that was high or low but for the price of this tunic and all the insignia you need to buy, you could have probably found a complete one. Usually if you go this route you do so to save money. So I can't dictate "fairness" but I can say that.

For instance, complete rural police tunics in nice condition go for about $1000. I was offered one without boards or an eagle, but with tabs for $550. I passed on it. I just didn't want to hassle with it. So I bought an original and complete one for $850.
