Police Lapel Badge

[StuG III]

Am I correct in thinking that this is a Police lapel badge. It certainly looks like it. Badge measures 30 x 28mm and seems to be made of zinc. Any comment will be welcome. Thank you.

Thanks Ade. When I first saw it I thought of the badge used on the Shako helmet, but I now see that it did not have a "step" in the wing feathers. Will just have to remove outer feathers.

It is a badge for civilian employees of the armed forces.
