Wow Glenn, nice presentation. You have great marketing skills.
Courage is not the lack of fear, it is the ability to take action, no matter the cost.
Glenn, that is a very nice display. Excellent - I'll have to save my pennies and nickles for one of those, if I can find one in decent shape, that is.
Jeez, talk about biting bullets, you guys want to kill off poor Roger by lead poisoning don't you?
Looking for WWII U.S. dog tags
There are a few around but nothing that isn't crazy expensive or possibly fake. Kai has 2 originals on his site at around $2300 each! Patience is definately key with gorgets. The Czech fakes are quite good so as always if you see something you like...get it on the forum first. I was lucky with my one as it was a private purchase but I went to some lengths to get it approved by several experts first.
Looks great, Roger!
Very nice collection , superbly displayed
Thanks, guys. The shako and any other high cost items will wait. I saw a tunic at the SOS last year that would fit right in, but I am leery of cloth items. I do need to focus on one area. To quote the Russian proverb, "He who chases two rabbits catches none."
OK, if you are a "purist" Polize collector like me, YOU DO NOT NEED A GORGET! That is a Whermacht item! If you get a gorget, get a police parade one! When I see "Feldgendarmerie" my eyes only see "Not the REAL Gendarmerie"!
Also, you can get a very nice Tschako for way less than a police combat helmet.
One other thing, if you want a nice affordable police item, get into Police Combat K98s now! The prices are still cheap and you can find them easy if you know what you are looking for! I bought two in the last few months for $100 each!
Thanks, Martin. I'll keep that in mind.
