" I like the idea of making it look like its on a train"!

Yes, that is a good idea, but take care for good number and
    city indications.
I have seen such displays, but with a wrong numbering
it looks so wrong (okay most will not know it)!

For a wrong sample you can check my coming book on page
22; for good samples you can take one from the many that
are shown. As this are actual raildroad/engine photos, it is
    always okay!

How the numbers and letters should look like you can also
find in the book, as actual, technical drawings will be included
(but are not the subject for the book).

Got a riser behind eagle today and he is in the "man's nest". Added a couple pictures. Not sure when or if I will do the steel / rail car backdrop. Kind of like it standing alone for now.

A bit late to the party here but--- congrats on a very nice 27' eagle! One of the more interesting makers too. I really like your idea bout a steel railway car backdrop but perhaps, until you get that project started, a nice "headboard" kind of backdrop in the same color and texture as the display case you have below? Just for that cohesive and more tidy look. I haven't got a backdrop for mine yet but intend to so I'm following your thread with great interest for inspiration!
