Hi all had a parcel arrival from the US today (many thank to Adam) so a couple of buckles to add to the database. They are probably on here already but hey ho. This is a very nice DRK Officers buckle marked Ges Gesch 1

Hi Ben,
I like all your new buckles apart from this DRK officers buckle.
Sorry, it is not my intention to be the messenger of bad news and hopefully I am wrong but I think this buckle is questionable because of its authencity. I don't like the unclean maker mark at all. The prongs are also cut in crude way and in the end the eagle appears somewhat fuzzy.
Perhaps we have a new fake generation here?
What do others think?
Best,
Guido

I did not think these were faked, I know the EM ones are cast fakes but not the officers ones, but looking at another one I know what you mean, compare with this one, lets wait for other opinions

Just looking around, I have seen other other Ges Gesch 1 marked buckle with the same markings and prong ends, also the Ges Gesch 2 in a circle with the same prongs

Has anyone known of fake DRK Officer buckles? If this is new it needs spreading around to warn others!
Ben
Ben, please take a look on Craig Gottlieb's auction site.
There are 4 officer/ round buckles (DRK, Penal, Customs, RAD) and they all bear the same characteristics: unclean markings and crude cut prongs.
A good friend of mine gave me the hint.
Best,
Guido
