This is a pic on the Grinder at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island after graduation with My Best Friend who joined with me.
We always did things together and we did the ultimate test together!
The other is from my 2nd Battalion, Company D, Platoon 2071 Grad book As Guide leading my Platoon with my Senior Drill Instructor during the Pass and Review ceremony

Looking like a MAN in your service alpha uniform. Proud day for any Marine is when you realize you earned the right to wear the EGA.

    Very cool, Phil.
It's great to be able to look back 40 years to a day filled with pride.

40 years ago today, I was 6 weeks away from marrying my first wife.
Big mistake. If I could go back in time and slap myself, I would.

    Niiiccce!

For a few reasons (some out of my control) I never served. Always wanted to and wish I did.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

    This is the Platoon pic.
My Senior Drill Instructor is the second from the left. SSgt. Musser! He was the Defensive Tackle for the Marine Corps football team. I ran past him one day filing out for formation. I had my cover plopped on top of my head as I was buttoning by my blouse , He picked me up with one arm by my collar from 2 steps down and let me down in front of him and he said "FIX YOUR COVER" I weighed about 165lbs and he picked me up like a rag doll. He was massive!! Damned straight I fixed my Cover!!!!
All of my DI were Vietnam Veterans, Some Crazier that other, Some Meaner than other!!
