Tomorrow is a significant day for all Australians, it marks the 100th anniversary of the first Australian troops to leave for the first world war. The troops, from right around Australia and New Zealand, departed Albany on the south coast of Western Australia, with many of them never to return. Most Western Australian troops departed from Fremantle where they joined the convoy headed towards Egypt escorted by a Japanese warship, Japan being our ally in world war one.
Lest We Forget.
