    The Greatest Battle
Stalin, Hitler and the Desperate Struggle for Moscow that changed the course of World War II

    By Andrew Nagorski

Published by Simon & Schuster, Inc.
    366 Pages with 16 B/W pictures.

This is an excellent book that really tells the true story of the battle for Moscow. The author had access to archives including NKVD documents and files.

I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone interested in the battle for Moscow.

Here is a book that I would recommend:

    Barbarossa the Russian-German Conflict 1941-1945

    By Alan Clark
    Copyright 1965
    Published by Harpercollins Publishers Inc.
522 pages with fact pages about the Russian and German leaders, Fuhrer Directive No. 34, Commissioned ranks of the SS and Army equivalents, and a glossary of abbreviations!

Definitely a good read for anyone wanting to learn about Barbarossa from the beginning to the fall of Berlin.

As I continue the work on my book I look for both sides of the story. One book is excellent. It's

    Eastern Front Combat
The German Soldier in Battle from Stalingrad to Berlin
    Edited by Hans Wijers
    Copyright ©2008 by Hans Wijers
    Published by Stackpole Books
Soft bound and 305 pages with plenty of pictures and maps.

It's an interesting account of the battles from a German soldier's point of view.

    I can recommend this book!!!
