Do what my buddy does , he ships back everything from the hotel he is staying at, to his home address, and marking on the box with a big, and colorful ebay sticker, they seem to not bother with packages too much if they think its an ebay item.

    Ok thanks for the help.

I still would like to clarify: I am flying from France (CDG) to Toronto and then to Richmond VA tomorrow via air Canada.

I just thought I would put a more clear description of the stuff I am trying to bring back:

    1. I have an exploded 5 inch shell casing from Utah beach, the only defineable part of it as once being an artillery shell casing is it's base. It weighs about 15lbs.

    2. M3 combat knife: can I put this in checked baggage???

    3. Pieces of shrapnel: nothing unusual just a few pieces of shrapnel from Utah that weighs under 1lb.

    4. 2 canteens: I believe I can put this in checked baggage

    5. Relic German bayonet. Can this be checked?

    6. Spent (Empty) Shell Casings: 1 50 calibre casing found on Utah beach and 1 30 calibre casing the owner of the La Fiere bridge b&b gave me (they dug that one up next to the farm house)

Will I have any trouble getting these items back to the US in Checked Baggage????
Will French security take any of this away while scanning my luggage?
Will US customs let me bring this into the states??

Have any of you brought back items similar to these in checked baggage and had any trouble?

Sorry for all the questions, I just really don't want anything to happen.

Like a yard sale/swap meet but with a lot of people selling stuff from the trunk of their cars. You can find some really unusual stuff.
