Is this chain mail "real"?
I figured I'd ask here before trying another forum. Does this look like 19th century+ chain mail? I can't find many sources for it. I'm hoping it's 16th-17th century but I could be wrong. The color of the top bit is throwing me off too. I'm thinking it might be Victorian era.

Real chainmail has welded closers, these are simply butted together.
