The Defence Discount Service.
For the U.K. members amongst us who are either currently serving in the Forces, the Reserves, Veterans, Spouses/Partners/Widow(er)s, Bereaved Family Members, MOD Civil Servants, Cadets or NATO Forces in the U.K., you are entitled to apply for the Defence Discount Service Privilege Card.
This is a scheme run by the Government to give those people who fall into the categories listed above a discount on the high street, online and to acquire cashback. You also qualify for a 10% discount card from Iceland (the shop ).
It applies to places like KFC, Blacks, Debenhams, Waterstones, Vision Express, Joules, Burton and can get you cheap days out to the Sealife Centres, Legoland to name just a few as well as letting you qualify for free tickets to sporting events, music, theatre and comedy. You can also get up to 20% off Vodafone bills.
It costs £4.99 for five years but this is a small fee that will easily be recouped over this time.
For more information and to apply, go to: Defence Discount Service and fill out the easy online application. You can also see the brands and retailers who support the scheme, what discounts and cashback they offer.
