How do you attach the medals? Pins, thread?
I want to start designing a display for my medals and I'm wondering how you attach them to the board or foam you display them on.
Thanks, Tzipi

Mine are not attached. They are simply set in place and the door, or cover holds them there. Either that or they are displayed on stands.

Hi Tzipi.
Mine are mounted on cloth covered 1/2" thick foam, that is stuck to a piece of 5mm thick MDF and framed. To attach the awards, I drill through the board and foam in 2 places and thread fishing line through with a large needle, so that you have 2 small loops. I then attach the award with their pin/catch, and then tension it by gently tying off the 2 ends of the fishing line, so that the award nestles into the cloth covered foam. Works well and looks great.
Best of luck
Mark
Nick, you could cover every wall in your hours if you framed all those. Lol
Mark, I've been think of useing a similar idea. So for medals I could thread it through the suspension ring? What about the ribbons? Sp they don't flop.
For the ribbons I drill 2 small holes the same width and thread one piece of line through, and then fold the ribbon over the strand of line, and where the medal hangs in its natural position, I tag the suspension ring with a needle and cotton.
I use blank canvases, i cut a slit into them and simply pop a small part of the ribbon through. I dont need to attach it with anything as it just stays there.
Part of my framed medal/award collection.
Ah ok. Great advice guys thanks
Can't wait to get started
