Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
Some great movies and Doco's fellas, of all the movies mentioned my favorite is still Stalingrad. The battle scene in the snow against the t34's,The soldiers dragging the antitank gun through the snow storm, and the ending is brilliant
Das Boot, Downfall, Gallipoli, SPR, BOB, and pacific are all excellent
Also i enjoyed the french film A very long engagement, sure its a bit soppy and long winded but the ww1 battle scenes are excellent.
A very long engagement is Un long Dimanche de fiancailles?
Indeed a very good film with tremendous and realistic battle scenes
Speaking about French films.
Le vieux fusil made a big impression on me when I saw it at the time.
Also liked La grande vadrouille.
and the scene of "Muskatnuss ! MUSKATNUSS HERR MÜLLER !!!!!"
muskatnuss herr müller!!!! - YouTube
in Le grand restaurant.

Love or loathe the movie, one can't fail but admire Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa.
All together now "Attendez la creme..."
I just watched a documentary series called Auschwitz that was pretty good has anyone else seen it?
If you are refering to Auschwitz, The Nazis and the Final Solution series then yes Ben, I agree. It is a very good series. The book is also well worth a read.
