I remember a Twilight Zone episode where a man went back in time to assassinate Hitler.

Those have been my favourites for a long time, and Downfall makes the list because its not the usual "RATATATATATATAT BOOM" movie and it is really interesting to watch.
As an extra to those who know finnish or have time to look up subtitles, you should see Uuno Turhapuro Armeijan Leivissä, its a really funny movie about Uuno getting to be a high ranking officer in the Finnish Defence Forces.

Yes; it's a classic and a very good film. Just be sure to get the b&w original, not the 2008 made-for-TV remake.

Das Boot was a great book and film but the acting was atrocious !
