I can't believe I haven't posted in this thread yet, Mine are
Downfall
and
Letters from Iwo jima
There's so many to choose from, but I do have three all time favorites.
*Platoon
*Beachhead
*All Quiet on the Western Front (1930 version)
Downfall is a great movie. A Bridge Too Far is perhaps my favorite of all time.
Maybe a bit obscure. But 2 of my favourites are largely Unheard of. Number one is. There's is the glory. 1945 British attempt at re telling .arhnem. The twist is they used the survivors of the original battle as extras. And stalingrad ....or dogs do you want to live forever. Again an early film 1954 German language using much original equipment. Superb battle scenes.
I posted on another thread on the same subject, but missed this one, so again for me,
Charge of the light brigade
Waterloo
Zulu
Went the day well
Dunkirk
Ice Cold in alex
All quiet on the western front-both versions
A bridge too far
The eagle has landed
Where eagles dare
The battle of Britain
The Dambusters
Escape from Colditz
The wooden horse
The great escape
Saving private ryan, even though parts of it bug the feck out of me
Downfall
Das boot
Stalingrad
and so many others I can't be arsed to type any more of them at this time, probably missed loads

Jerry
Whatever its just an opinion.
Great to see Ice Cold in Alex on a list.
Cheers
Dave
I had listed it on the more recent thread-great character study with fine actors driving it-and the exquisite Sylvia Syms-comes on TV here every now and again-'Sea of Sand' is also pretty good in the same sort of vein.
