I don't think so. Film critics are just a big challenge for you to make a better or best film ever.

Just look at the critics in a positive way. You might know it in the next few years, you are one of the best film makers.

I wasn't too impressed with War Horse or Battleship

Two serious movies of late that are worth watching are My Way and The Front Line. Both are Korean with subtitles.
The Front Line (2011) - IMDb
    My Way (2011) - IMDb
I bought My Way on Blu-Ray and watched it last week; an impressive work indeed.

This is the most expensive South Korean film ever made and every single won spent for the budget can be seen on the screen, with an epic story taking us from Korea via the Mongolian border and the Ural mountains to Normandy and through three huge battle sequences that are up there with Saving Private Ryan's beach landing sequence in terms of scope and gritty realism.

Its an emotional and visual rollercoaster ride, too, with its many graphic moments of war's blood, carnage and horror alternating with beautiful, breathtaking vistas and a fascinating character arc for the Japanese main character, Tatsuo.

A very good oldie is "Morning Departure" with old stalwarts John Mills, Richard Attenborough, Nigel Patrick, Bernard Lee, James Hayter, Kenneth More , the plot is one of the very first Submarine accidents to be depicted on film and coincidently at a time when the real submarine distaster of HMS Trucullent had occurred, its well acted and shows the dilemas faced when a sub hits an old wartime mine and leaves 12 survivors out of a crew of 63, and the subsequent attempts to rescue the crew remaining while trapped in 90 fathoms, 8 of the crew manage to escape via the gun and conning tower hatches using the breathing apparatus but the remaining 4 cannot escape due to ruined sets, its well worth seeing
