The film industry can't get it right.

Article about: by davesap250 If they make All quiet on the Western Front again I hope they do a proper job on it. I see Peter Jackson has put on hold the re-make of the Dambusters. Apparantly it has a \\$30,

U-571 was indeed entertaining and fun to watch, but to me, the film lacked credibility.

    I agree with Woolgar.

I thought U-571 was a very entertaining movie.

I think I may give U-571, but I wont expect too much from it !! I watched Red Tails a couple of weeks ago, I thought it was one of the worst films I have ever seen

In the Blue Max, the opening scene shows the Brits going over the top with their SMLEs, and the Germans coming out to meet them with their No4s and No9 bayos fixed.

Its not just the films that get it wrong i went to see The War House in London ,Overall very good but problems with the British ranking on the officers tunics and some Germans wearing ww2 helmets , But i think you will always find problem in films and theatre when you are a anorak like myself

    Steve:
i was told when they made the battle of the Bulge they contracted the armed forces of Spain to help make the movie. Thus the equipment. You know, Military Aid?????? We sold a lot of out dated equipment to other countries. Look at south America. The whole world is still selling Surplus stuff to them.
I used to study war movies. It will drive you nuts how Hollywood get's things wrong.
Now the most correct movies I have seen lately is Downfall and Valkerie. Both made in Germany I think?
Love those Germans for getting things right.
    Just my thoughts,

    John

A lot of war movies have incorrect vehicles: In 'PATTON' and 'The Battle Of
The Bulge', some of the jeeps are late 1940's CJ-2A's or 1950's M38's,
along with 1950's Dodge M37 trucks, and all the German Panzers
    are US Chaffe tanks.

In 'The Guns Of Navarone', most of the German trucks are
    1950's Dodge M37's.

All German tanks and halftracks in the 1960's TV
series 'The Rat Patrol' were American.........
