    Hello Gents
I happen to work at Rookwood & a John Barney Hines is buried in the Catholic Cemetery,
Mortuary 2, section 11, grave # 2576. The service date was 31/1/1958 so this tallys with
John's date of death. I will have to have a look myself. Unfortunately there are a lot of
    section graves that are unmarked.

    Regards
    Brett

Maybe all the Sydney guys can gather around the grave & raise a toast to JB .... or a good place for the 1000 post helmet Sydney photo?

    Hello Dan
That sounds like a good idea. There are many thought provoking things relating to the wars to be seen at Rookwood. The saddest
in my opinion are the monuments erected by the families for relatives who never returned. The one that really gets me is for a young
bloke who was killed on his 20th birthday while stretcher bearing at Villers Bretonneux. There are many worthy of a toast here!

    Regards
    Brett

Leave it to an Aussie to run off to war and come back home richer than when he left! And who said "the entrepreneur spirit" is dead? lol Guts And an eye for a buck! Yep...that would be an Australian!
