    The RAAF used a number of Dornier Do 24 Sea Planes post 1941. These were ex Dutch Airforce and arrived in Australia after the fall of the Dutch East Indies in early 1942.

    My Neighbor who was a liaison pilot on Gen Patton's staff told
    me that they captured a Me108 and flew that thing all over Germany.

    He even tried to bring it home after the war but was not allowed.
    Here is a picture of the Me108 with American markings on it.
    Also in the picture is "Charlie" a pow Luftwaffe mechanic. Owen
    said that guy could fix anything.

    Didn't the Luftwaffe have special unit flying captured B-17 Flying Fortress bombers?

    Yes.
    I remember reading about a captured bomber appearing and inching closer to an aircraft in a bomber stream and the Allied crew becomming suspicious.

    KG200 operated several Allied aircraft.

    Quite a few captured German aircraft were evaluated at RAF CollyWeston (which post war was absorbed into the present day ((as is ... as was)) RAF Wittering.
