I reckon Robs got it smack on
Rob is spot on.
It does look like a Blackburn design but it's a Gloster F.5/ 34.
Built for the same British Air Ministry requirement that included the Hurricane and Spitfire.
One prototype flew in December 1937, with a second following in March 1938. Gloster then dropped out of the competition and filed away their work.
She also looks a bit like a Mitsubishi A6M Zero but was longer and had a shorter wingspan.
