You are right on pre war, he is a very well decorated fighter pilot but I am not sure if he achieved 'ace' status. I would expect so.

I'll give you guys this one, it's ridiculously obscure.
Fritz Beckhardt. Iron Cross I, Hohenzollern with swords, Hessian medal for courage, Hessian Ernst Ludwigs order. It's a WW1 photo, I chose it because of the swastika he used for good luck, long before any NSDAP connotations A little tricky I admit I don't have another so anyone can post one.
