Steve, is the wire you use similiar to the wire they secure children toys to the boxes? Thick wire with a clear plastic coating.
Yes, it's the same type of stuff, but it is actually very thin wire inside.........

Maybe the toy wire seems thick on Christmas morning because the kid is impatiently waiting for dad to cut the wire and get the toy out of the box.

why not try those thin black plastic cable ties, you can thread them through the backing and adjust the tension to secure the dagger and scabbard and because they are black will blend in better and not cause any damage

Lol - I got the wire from a couple of 'Matchbox' metal WWII aircraft
boxes - there were three or four 5" wires holding down
    each plane.........!
    Regards,

    Steve.

That might be a really good idea, i think i may try the fishing line idea or the wire idea.

I can never find any hinged cases either at Michaels or AC Moore. I always see the ones with the removable backing,, which is what I DONT WANT. $ 10 BUCKS you cant go wrong........its ashame your only 15 and the streak of luck your running right now with these prices it would be advisable to play $1 on a lottery. its funny how luck runs,,, which is like an open window for a while and closes afrer awhile.

Hey guys! I Got my ss dagger hung up in the box. I used fishing line and strung it through the holes i made by drilling. Unfortunately i didn't have much time to take photos and i took only one. I will try to get more this weekend.

    Thanks
