Apparently, there was an even longer Japanese soldier reported-a Captain Fumio Nakahara who was reputed to be still out there as of April 1980. The investigating team found what they believed to be his hut, but they could not locate Him...

Does this mean he was wearing the same clothes for the 30 years?!?! Pretty fantastic devotion though, I love how they have him teaching survival techniques to children! pretty cool stuff!

Yeah, he pretty much used the same clothes for 30 years. In the copy of the book I have it shows how some of the items were adapted/ mended.
