Truly sad news to hear of the passing of Andy, one of the first to offer me guidance and support when I first joined the forum a year ago. Reading the About Me section of his profile page I was struck by his bravery and his modesty in the face of a terrible illness.

'The reason I'm photographing my entire collection is to have a complete and up to date record of what exactly I have, document them and record their current value in case they have to be sold by family if I'm not around anymore. The pictures will be useful for them to be sold of course. So don't think it's a show off thing, I'm just sharing my work in progress.'

My thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family now with a poem from his fellow-countryman Dylan Thomas.

Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night

Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on that sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
