Purely by accident.

My militaria forum participation was on WAF for many years, think my member number there is below 1000 so I had/have been a member there for years, watched it evolve and then devolve. I was at work one night researching something related to Third Reich militaria and one of the search results lead me here.
I joined then and there and started posting. I recognised a few names here and have stayed every since. This is the only militaria forum I post on nowadays and it was a very welcome break from the other.
There are some fine people here, many of whom I have the privilege of calling my friends.

You are valued Mod here Adrian and the word of reason at needed times and I also thank you.

I was invited by a Belgian young student, who was a mod here at that time, but i never saw him again ever since....

I came here for the wildly unexciting reason that I was hunting down some mundane militaria award specification or criteria that I was researching online at the moment, and the trail brought me Here. Rather than lurk, I decided to join the Forum and put at least a bit of the experience and knowledge I'd accumulated over the years to some Good use for once and help both the new collectors as well as the more advanced. Like others, I was a member at WAF also, but found This Forum to be Much more pleasant and less unsociable as opposed to the "run by a select few" Other forum who never seemed to give a damn what anyone Else had to say or contribute about much of anything there. Hobbies like this require endless little essential bits of what to look for and what to avoid, so I figured if I could help even a few decent people keep their collections going in the right direction, why not?

In August of 2009 I picked up two of Third Reich flags and needed to know
if they were good or not - turned out they were 4th Reich ! - which lead
me to WRF. After joining, I posted some other things from my collection
that I had questions about, and soon found there were lots of folks
here with similar interests. I do not use any other forums.........

i was trying to find some information on german helmet decals and came across this site. and have never looked back. but i never thought i would join a forum in a millon years, but its great. and it helps to talk about all the stuff we collect. the misses and freinds are not very intrested. thanks

Adrian, I can't believe I was here two months before you were! I always thought you were one of the founders!
