Lawrence is a truly fascinating character. At age 16 to did a bicycle tour of the mid east sketching crusader castles. I hope there's more info on this article.
Was the campfire still burning?
Brilliant, can't wait to see the photo's. I don't know how true it is but I once spoke to a man who fought in the desert and he told me that in some areas the sand dunes moved and swallowed anything that couldn't be lifted, pushed or dragged. He said the desert is still full of buried equipment.
A couple of years ago i was in El Alamein, everyone had a story about "things" in the desert (ww2 stuff)...unfortunately the Egyptian military control a lot of the areas where these bits and pieces are (according to locals) I was there during the revolution,so everyone was a bit on edge..After the battle magazine has featured some stuff
