This is not so much reinventing oneself - but reinventing the brand!!!

Good old FANTA - who would of thought that it was a third Reich product??

Fanta originated because a trade embargo prevented Coca-Cola syrup from being imported to Germany during World War II.
To get around this, Max Keith, the head of Coca-Cola Deutschland (Coca-Cola GmbH) during the Second World War, decided to create a new product for the German market, using only ingredients available in Germany at the time, including whey and pomace – the "leftovers of leftovers", as Keith later recalled. The name was the result of a brief brainstorming session, which started with Keith exhorting his team to "use their imagination" ("Fantasie" in German), to which one of his salesmen, Joe Knipp, immediately retorted "Fanta!" ( source Wikipedia )

OK, this one might be a little "touchy" .....

The German chemical firm of I. G. Farben ( who were to gain notoriety as the patent holder and manufacturer of pesticide Zyklon B ) were considered because of its war crimes as " too corrupt an organisation to be allowed to continue to exist". It had been created back in 1925 as a merger of SIX major companies in the chemical field and after the war, the allies dissolved and liquidated Farben and split the conglomerate back into its original constituent companies.

FOUR of those companies were ....... and are ........ BASF, BAYER, HOECHST, and AGFA

See, the ghosts of the past never really go away!!!

4 well renown companies..that all play a part in our everyday lives. BASF pretty much has their hands in everything that is produced. Ranging from the smallest plastic toy to farm equipment. The commercial on TV a while back by BASF..was that they didnt make or create the things we use in our everyday lives...they just made them better.

Is Bayer the same group who made aspirin? Regards Larry

It may not look much like it's "flying Pencil" ancestor, but this HM3 lithotriptor designed to ultrasonically treat kidney stones is what Dornier Medtech manufactures these days ( the last incarnation of Dornier Flugzeugwerke )

Medical equipment such as this, is a long leap from Blitz bombing runs ....... but that's progress for you!!!

    Default Schokolade-then and now

Who packed chocolate in tins for the Red Cross and Wehrmacht and still makes chocolate today? This part of their history is missing from the company history. According to Hildebrand they started making confections in the 1950s. NH
