Article about: by LuLuConstance I'm planning my outfit for Halloween. I intend on being an SS Commandant... I thought this sort of thing was frowned upon in the UK.

    Hey. So, I'm new here, and, well, I'm planning my outfit for Halloween. I intend on being an SS Commandant, and recently, I got a peaked cap from a shop nearby;

    But, as you can see, I really need to remove the yellow colouring. I don't know how to, but is there any way I can alter it?

    Help would be really appreciated.

    Going as an 'SS commandant'.......that'll make you popular !......i remember wearing a genuine WW2 German army artillery officers uniform and accessories to a fancy dress party in the 70's, i didnt realise we were i a heavily populated jewish area, and had to be smuggled out, in the forerunner of a wheelie bin !.....mind you i was in my late teens...

    Welcome to the forum, i have moved this thread into discussions as the previous area was for genuine SS items or items purporting to be such !!

    an SS peaked cap and then some . I would refrain from the use of these as holiday costumes.

    other examples, also too valuable, fragile and rare as party favors.

    By the way, the cap on the left is in the Shea Beaver book, and I sold it, of course. Ha ha.

    and these, too, actually.... the top left one is also in Shea Beaver book, but I have not sold it.... the variations in same are interesting. But none of these is suited for a Halloween costume. You can surely buy fakes and imitations ones for said purpose.
