Dont think its Finnish sorry i cant help more than that

Thanks " kradman" it now eems like it could be "Finnish" from the early 20th century when Finland was part of Russia. So Russian could be very plausible.

Looks to me like a 19th century Imperial German Navy dagger of some sort...
