I will begin work tomorrow at the local forest management for two weeks. The money I get I am planning to spend on starting a new hobby I have been thinking of for two years now, and I get to combine it with my militaria collecting hobby: airsoft! I have counted the money I will earn, I am planning to get together a Bundeswehr loadout. I shall see how this goes.

I also hold an Advanced certification for Scuba Diving, but due to monetary an logistical issues (living inland) i have not been diving for awhile. Not many experiences in the world equate to sitting in the sand 130 feet underwater watching the sea-life swim by!

Here is another one that I made a few years ago, a saber/cutlass.
It is about 4" (10 cm) long. The blade is made from tool steel and fully heat treated. When it came out of the oven, it had a turned a beautiful gold tone. I decided to leave it this way. It also carries a katana style of tip. The guard is made from sheet brass and has a vine pattern hand engraved into it. It also holds the back strap at the hilt, the way it should. The handle is made from moose antler that has been carved and filed down to shape with a three strand wrap consisting of two strands of brass and one of silver. The back strap for the handle is made from a solid piece of 1/4 " (6 mm) rod. It was drilled into and then all of the unnecessary parts removed, it also holds the pommel end of the guard in place, as it should. The pommel is another piece of solid brass that has been shaped to fit. The purple background and the African blackwood mounts are for the frame that it stays in.
I apologise for the out of focus photos as these are so small that the camera focuses on the cloth background instead of the item.
