Not sure where to put thise, as there is no sub section it could fit in.
But feel free to move it to any section you think to be appropriated.
What I want to show are Belgian military pith helmets from 1886 to 1950.
First is a 1886 mod, called sugarloaf by the French.
I also have to ad I am very grathfull to one of our members here, who pointed it out to me.
I am using the sellers pic's, because it isn't in yet!

Next is the 1950 mod. The left one used by the Belgian Marine, the right one used by Belgian fusselliers (no insigna!).
I must say, I never knew we had a military section like fusselliers(more or less to compare to marines...), I only learned this yesteday....
Information regarding this branche is very vague...

All these helmets came to me in less then a week, so I must say I am very pleased and wunder what the rest of the year will offer ....
Always looking for Belgian Congo stuff!

    Hey Jerry,
the Belgian military stuff is well worth to be collected!
We had very nice uniforms, influenced by many of our neighbours (French /British).
In general hard to get because we didn't had that big army's, but I was lucky when recently a huge collection got sold......
And finding bits and parts due to fellow collectors /fora members who pointed it out to me.
The Belgian section became the biggest part of my militaria collection in a no time.......
I was sure you would love the pith helmets! ;-)
    cheers

    Thanks wizardman!
No German imperial pith helmets, .....so far,.... but on my list! ;-)

Belgian Congo days is a hot matter over here. It depends on witch side you are standing.
My father who is a professor hemeritus, is working on a script to refute all falls allegations written by less fair players in the run to the colonisation of central Afrika.
A tricky thing...very close to the negationism we know...
I love to keep on talking about it, but it might get political...if it all ready isn't...

So we better stick to the helmets, here.

    cheers
