Decided on creating a thread about the portuguese caps, in order to help identify possible caps that some members may have in their collections and not knowing what they are.
These caps were made between the 1940`s and 1970, because the army usually did not date their gear, its very rare to find one with a precise date.
Enjoy.
Cheers.

Lets start with a medical`s officer cap. Very nice construction with leather visor and gold bulion. Beautiful cap.
Engineer officer`s cap
Modest build but still nice looking.
Using the traditional discovery cross and gold bulion simbol.
I love the style of these caps.
Merchant navy Capitan`s cap.
A more modest and recent build, i would say late 60`s, early 1970`s.
However a nice cap also.
Notice the cross on the top part of the cap, its called "Discovery cross".
Infantry officer`s cap
A good quality design but surely a 1970`s cap, notice the lack of red cloth on the inside of the cross and the quality of the bulion has decreased. Its also a shorter cap. The shorter the cap is, more recent it is.
This one is from my personal collection, its an 1940 army issue infantry officer`s cap, rank is "Graduate" or in portuguese "Graduado".
Beautifully made, gold leaf bulion, fantastic detail. Note the the amazing detail on the cross. However it has a bit of damage on its interior.
I love this cap.
I hope you like too.
