I will never forget that day in 1969. I was 8 years old and one of our neighbors drug out their huge console TV into the front yard and they had a block party where everyone gathered to watch the landing. You could hear a pin drop as Neil stepped on the moon. All of the Apollo Gemini and Mercury astronauts were my heroes. And yes the Cosmonauts were too.
P.S. I started collecting the year before.
