    G'day all,

Here I am again on one of my " medicated musings"

I have a few repros in my collection....I use the term repro ratchet than fake becsuse I knowingly bought them fully aware of their non authenticity.... Becsuse I don't need th stress of negotiating that " is it real" minefield

"Gold party badge" a lovely repro
"SS dog tag"-I don't collect dog tags, too personal or me, but I know this is n aged repro and didn't belong to anyone, I like it!!
"SS crusher cap" aI like the look and style of SS caps, it looks about right, and I'm not a huge SS collector, so it suits me fine, also have some repro SS cam, a zelt and a jacket...looks goodon the manaquin
"battle damaged SS Skull" - displays well and looks cute

There are probaly more, but can't think at the moment.....might even buy one of those SS tuxedo badge for 10 bucks on eBay, again cause they look kinda cool!!!

Repros, fakes, whatever ... they should all be destroyed imo

They were only ever created to deceive

But if the person your buying them from is upfront, and i know it's not always the case, then I think there is a place for repros, what happens to them after, is the problem.....and the fun thing I do, is that wheni get a real pice to replace, I often give the repro to a mates kids, and it peaks their interest in collecting

I have a "reproduction" or two, but I own them because they:
    1) Are much cheaper than the real thing, and still display just as nice.
    2) Are not as historically valuable, and I don't feel bad if I wear them/use them at a reenactment.

I also have a few 'stand ins' which are merely temporary fillers (I have a Dutch liner in my Nam' Era M1 until a suitable one arrives.).

As a reenactor I use repros only because I don't want to destroy originals.

I'm sitting here trying to think if I would every want a repro for display as opposed to an original, and I can't really think of anything. lol

I don't have any repros / fakes whatever or not knowingly !! For me i see them as a waste of time and money ( even if it isn't a lot ) as that money could be saved up to buy something original i really just can't see the point and it's the repros / fakes that have turned collecting into the minefield it is now !!

i have a few repros, mainly uniform items for a fallshirmjager display i have planned. The intention is to replace the repro with original as time and money permits. To be honest i havnt purchased a repro item for a while as i would rather save my collecting money for originals.
However i do have a waffen ss spring blurred edge reversible parka that is one of my favorites repro items
