Today I got up at the crack of dawn to go hunting for militaria related bargains. I went through countless antique shops and manage to get a few items which I am really please with (will be posted shortly!). Anyway we were heading back to the car and we thought that we would visit Maidstone Museum as we hadn't been there for a long time. We went in and started to walk around the displays and around 5 minutes in, I saw out of the corner of my eye a wall completely covered by medals! It was the Royal West Kent Regimental Museum!

There were some excellent displays showing the history of the regiment, with items such as medals (4 Victoria Crosses!), weapons, uniforms etc. Unfortunately I couldn't take photographs but if you are ever passing Maidstone in Kent, the museum is a must. And its free.

Here is a link to the museum and some photographs of the display.
