    Default Russian postal tracking

    Hi guys,

Does anyone have any experience with the Russian
    Postal system?

I have a book coming from Russia, and the seller was
kind enough to give me a tracking number that allowed
me to watch it's progress through Russia.

The last update I got was 2 weeks ago saying it had
cleared Russian Customs---but nothing sense. I am
guessing it's on a slow boat from Moscow. Does
anyone know if USPS will track that package once/if
it ever gets into their system?

    Thanks,
    Greg

I do much back and forth shipping with colleagues in Russia and Ukraine.

I think that you will just have to sit and wait Greg. Sometimes it takes a few weeks to even get on that boat, make it here, get sorted and delivered to you. If things have not changed recently, and the item was sent UNREGISTERED, I strongly believe there is no way to track it.

I have shipped, not received, to Russia a number of times. Each time, I had no way to track after it arrived at their Customs. I imagine it's similar inbound.

I should add, after the first few times I asked USPS if Signature Confirmation was possible and the reply was, "yes", but it ends at Customs.
