Default Serial number and Helmet names!

    Hey men and women!
I have a few questions about serial number and names.
I have a few Lugers and a few Heer helmets(with names, and serial numbers)

    My question is..
1 Is it possible to find out who ownd the Lugers?
2 Is there any place I can search for the German name, in the back of the helmets?
Like, do the germans still have files with the names of their soldiers ?

    Thank you very much!
Everything is helping, so please comment or send Pm!

The Lugers, if you are fortunate, may Possibly be able to track them down to date of manufacture and maybe by the serial number to lot groups as to what unit they were issued to(and this is highly doubtful in itself), but to find the owner,it is frankly not possible. As for German names, yes, the Germans still have records and files with their military records, but even if you had the soldiers serial numbers too, they are still kept private by the German government unless you are directly related to the person himself.

The day the Germans release that kind of info to the public will be a happy day for collectors for sure..
