I apologize if these have been seen and discussed before!

Believe it or not, I found these on a humor website... I think whoever superimposed them did and EXCELLENT job. Lining up the two shots and making sure the modern picture was taken in the correct spot, at the correct angle, must have been a real challenge!

I find the images taken in Berlin, Paris, and in Italy especially striking... as I have been there!

Visiting Berlin was an amazing experience for me. Everywhere I went, I couldn't help but to think of the young men and women who fought and gave their lives on the spots where I stood as a tourist. The bullet pock marks and blast marks still present all throughout the city on buildings and monuments serve as a constant reminder...

    Here is the final set:

The one of Hitler posing infront of the Eiffel Tower is one of my favs.... Reminds you what COULD have been if not for the many millions who made the ultimate sacrifice.

These are created by Sergey Larenkov- here's his site, with more of his work: sergey_larenkov

I think they have been posted here before, but I imagine many won't have previously caught that thread. I think the idea behind them is so clever, and the results are powerful. I would love for a book of these to be produced! To travel to the locations and be able to look at the same place in such contrasting moments in time would be so fascinating and moving, no doubt.

    Very nice find Joe,
I had a similar experience driving from Naples to Rome. There were blown up and shot up farm houses all along the route. I asked why they had not rebuilt them and the answer was, " Why do anything today that can be done tomorrow" Apparently it's the unwritten Italian national motto.
