the collectors guild???? klaus butschek??? are these two as honest and reliable as most people think??? not that i have any problems just thinking of making some very expensive purchases!!!! treating myself to some xmass presents, thats all nothing sinister intended,, mart.

There are many excellent online dealers as well as ones that are not so good but my advice is if you are going to make expensive purchases from any dealer really know what you are buying.

Would take Paul's Advice, Its painful watching people getting Burnt with this Hobby. Decide what takes your fancy, buy some Books on your Subject. have you decided what it is that you like?

Every time I've dealt with Klaus he has been fantastic so I can highly recommend him.
Also everyone at militaria Berlin and Helmut Weitze have been really good too, so would recommend them as well!!!

Mart, I have used Klaus quite a few times and he is a nice bloke, but I would always say either know your stuff before you buy or get it validated first. Collectors Guild very good and well respected, but I have still seen fake buckles on there for sale (which they did remove when informed)

Helmut Weitze seems to always be on the expensive side in my opinion.

I like using Militaria Berlin (they ship REALLY fast) and Military Antiques Stockholm, even if only for the quality of the images of the items for sale as it helps in making a better assessment of the piece. While I have bought from Klaus, the quality of his photography leaves me wary of buying a piece I can't see very well.
