Article about: hi, Is any of you picking up your Veterans badges on or before the 27th, June, Brithish Forces Day, We have our presentation on Sun, 21st, in Truro Cornwall. Just wondered if you old sweats

    Is any of you picking up your Veterans badges on or before the 27th, June, Brithish Forces Day, We have our presentation on Sun, 21st, in Truro Cornwall. Just wondered if you old sweats are getting yours.

    You get a presentation?! lucky chap, i got mine with my service records when i left. I have put it away now i have re-enlisted ...

    Donnie.. P.S what are your thoughts on it by the way?

    Hi Donnie,
    Well i think it is a good thing for Vets to be recognized, a lot of guys put good time in and have nothing to show for it at times.
    And some in this country dont appreciate our forces weather it be any one of the three, so its about time we got something for our efforts. Have you gone back to the rifles ?, well done and take

    Hi mate,

    I think a Veterans badge should entitle you too a free pint in every pub in the UK .....

    Got mine about 3 years ago without a presentation

    They are a good thing for all Britians Vets , if you are prepared to stand on the wall with your head above the parapet in any era you deserve some sort of recognition

    Just sent off the the Veterans agency for it John , i think you can fill a form in on line.

    Hi Paul,
    They are doing the British Forces Day on the 12st down this end
    with the band and bugles, military vehicle shows ect, and the presentation of badges to Vets. So it will be good to see some old mates after years and get together.

    My Dad got a letter through telling him he is entitled to apply for it... he got it in the post... hahaha no presentation for him

    If you were awarded a gong for your service dont you think that should be enough? infact let me rephrase that, when in normal civilian dress the badge should be worn but on parades if you are wearing medals the badge should not be worn.........thats what i think?
