    Default War Films

    Hi all,

I'm just curious to know what the best war film you've seen.

I've just finished watching 'Man Of War' the story of Max Manus. What a film!! An absolutely fantastic insight into the Norwegian resistance.

    This movie now jumps to No1 in my war movie list;

    1 - Man Of War
    2 - Saving Private Ryan/Band Of Brothers
    3 - The Longest Day

I'd love to know your thought,
    Lee

    Hi Lee,

I tried to keep my list to three, but I just couldn't bring myself to leave out the other two.

Here are my all time favorites:

    1. The Dawn Patrol (1938 version) - Errol Flynn, David Niven.
    2. Five O' Clock High - Gregory Peck.
    3. Stalag 17 - William Holden, Peter Graves.
    4. Patton - George C. Scott.
    5. Sergeant York - Gary Cooper.

I havent got a hope in hell of keeping my list to 3, if truth be known, I would be struggling to keep it to 5, but here goes:

    1: A Bridge Too Far
    2: The Great Escape
3: Dawn Patrol (Original 1938 version)
    4: The Longest Day
