Nick, it's a great place to sit with a pint and just stare! If you're ever down that way be sure to pop in. Cambridge is a fantastic town.

Great 'Then and now' photo Martin, but where is it and what's it called?
It's Shepherds, just off Curzon Street in Mayfair ( in fact, right next door to the Curzon Cinema ). A regular Gibson haunt, and in fact many of the Dam Busters bundled into taxis and went straight there after the Buckingham Palace awards ceremony ( there's a full description in Humphreys' book ).

    Good idea for a thread.
I don't have any pictures to add but I know that
where ever my old man was stationed, he knew
    where the best bars were.
