At the risk of being a geek, that's not Han Solo's gun. He had a BlasTech Industries DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol.

It bears a remarkable resemblance to the Mauser C96 pistol but as Star Wars is a historical documentary series from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.... we can only assume that the Germans and Mauser copied their pistol design from the original DL-44 design.

At this point, just let me add, once and for all: Yes, Han shot first.

There are a lot of recognisable weapons in Star Wars from the mighty MG 34 to the humble BSA Scorpion air pistol.

In fact I have a Stormtrooper E-11 Blaster rifle that the British based their Sterling L2A3 sub machine gun on.

I use it in my second job.............
