    Yes..., I couldn't resist because it looks so odd. But have no idea as to what it actually is, if not what they claim it may be. Very strange inside band liner.

    Looks like a childrens cap..with a poorly sewn on visor

    Might be the only Made in China thing sold on eBay lately of quality ;-)

    I am thinking this might be a Korean war era Chinese hat. I think I recall seeing one associated with that a while back. may be pre koren war wich would be mao, long march kinda thing

    Thanks General P. Got a similar confirmation on another board that it is probably pre-Korean war period. Will see if there are more comments, but if that's the case, Lord knows how many iterations it went through after that.

    Got a pretty good answer over on the Gunboards....

    "It is a fairly typical Chi-nat army cap. They look very German to me. There's another Chinese war film Death and Glory in Chungde about a 1943 battle against the Japanese with the Chi-nats as heroes slugging it out with the IJA. You'll see plenty of the German style caps with the KMT/Guomindang star on them, and also Brodie Lend Lease helmets with the star. The Chi-nats had German advisors throughout the 1920s and into the 1930s. Also Soviet support in the 1920s too."
