Discounting my few fossils(!), the oldest item in my collection these days would be my Kaiser Wilhelm 100 year anniversary medal.

The oldest piece in my military collection is this original
1813 Iron cross.
Other than that, I would have to say my Indian arrowheads.

Well my oldest War related item is a ground dug Civil War belt buckle from the battle of Cold Harbor Va,.....my oldest World War item I think would be my Picklehauben, dated 1915.

Great items guys. Keep them coming !
The oldest item(s) I have are not military related - pictured below,
an ammonite fossil - 65 million years old.
The oldest piece of militaria I can think of is a British Crimean
War medal, named to 'Pte. G. Rix, R.M. (Rodney)'

I'm not worthy, lol! That 1813 EK is a beauty and so rarely seen...I'm sure this is one of your most prized items in your collection, thanks for showing Greg!
cheers, Glenn
Glenn,
Thanks so much.
You are right, this is one of my favorite pieces.
I found this one while surfing Ebay late one night.
Good stuff is still out there, it's just a matter of
having the patience to wait for it to turn up.

Some of these knives in my collection are sterling silver fruit knives. They come from a time before stainless steel and were made from sterling to avoid rusting from the juices when used on fruit. The ones that are sterling are hall marked and some date from as far back as 1856. Some have mother of pearl handles and some are made entirely from sterling. Some are personalized and some even have faces on the handles.
I also have a few fossils that I have found.
Ralph.
Searching for anything relating to, Anton Boos, 934 Stamm. Kp. Pz. Erz. Abt. 7, 3 Kompanie, Panzer-Regiment 2, 16th Panzer-Division (My father)
My oldest item in my collection is my 1890 Steyr Gew88. Found it at a local militaria swap meet a couple of months ago
