    You need to turn the flash off and use a tripod to eliminate camera shake as the exposure will be longer in the absence of flash. That way you will avoid flash glare and take a much nicer shot. Most digitals these days allow white balance adjustment for shooting in bright sunlight, cloudy conditions, artificial light etc so you can easily take the blue hue from electric lighting out to give a more true-to-life result.
