I just finished reading "Unbroken", an excellent book and well worth reading. And soon to be at a theater near you...

I'm starting on this one again. Not sure why but I stopped reading it a while ago so time now to finish it.

I've been reading this one lately, an interesting account of a little known (and yet highly crucial at the time) section of the Eastern Front in 1942 when focus was shifting to the Southern front i.e Stalingrad and the Caucauses.

However that read has been interrupted by a friend's recommendation of this book which has cornered my attention. The true story of the last US ambassador and his family in Berlin prior to the outbreak of war. Only a few chapters in but so far a great depiction of the isolationist policy of the US at the time amidst the increasing Jewish persecutions and the growing realisation that the TR was not going to play nice in Europe. Apparantly the ambassador's young daughter gets up to some mischief with a number of senior party and SS officials but I haven't got to that part yet.

Hi Jerry. I don't feel so bad then. Hopefully I finish it this time.
