My best would have to be my named German M35 and Japanese Type 90 helmets. Both came into the recycling facility that my family owns. If I had not asked for them, the M35 would have either been thrown out or been painted over and used as a motorcycle helmet. The Type 90 would have either sat in a scorching-hot attic forever but more than likely would have been thrown out.

The M35 is named to "Kittel", while the Type 90 is named to "NAKAJIMA Kazu". The Type 90 was picked up on Iwo Jima(!) by George J. Ritz, a sailor on LSM 264.

I started collecting at the begining of this year, So its realy what was my best find of my first year of collecting.

Most of my items came from genorous donations to my collection from you forum member. So should I enclude my best item giving to me?

    I will pick two.

The best giving item to me (all the other are equally as great...!)
would be this DAF cap which resently arrived.

And my best bought items would be a German family photo album that dates back from 1876 to 1942 with over a hundred photos.

    Thanks,
    Patrick

Custom tailored Khaki drab tunic to a Scots Guards officer, with removed parachute qualification wings and BETFOR (probably) unit insignia. Very rare to see this type of tunic to a Scots Guards officer anyway and also who was a qualified paratrooper. Hopefully I can find out some more info in the future, and maybe who he was, if I'm very lucky.
