Diary of a Desert Rat and With Rommel in the Desert, the two best first hand accounts of the war in North Africa IMHO.

This one I read recently about a German in Napoleon's army on the march to Moscow and the retreat. Fascinating diary.

Shooting the War by: Otto Giese. He was the 2nd Watch Office on U-181. U-181 was first commanded by: Wolfgang Luth. The title does not reference combat in nature--but through the lens of a camera. Once you start reading this excellent work--you cannot put it down.

the Sepp Alleberger book was a great read! (even though it is controversial, similar to Sajer's)

Here are a couple memoirs I have enjoyed:

    - War Diaries of a Panzer Soldier (Erich Hager w/ 17th Pz Div on the Russian Front)
    - At Leningrad's Gates - Wilhelm Lubbeck w/ Army Gruppe North

Ive been reading alot of Unit Combat Histories lately tho too, which can be just as interesting since most have Vet's interveiws in them.
