Forgot to tell what my first item was!
We lived in Congo at that time and I recieved a MPR headgear, loking a bit like the French foreign legion olive forage cap.
MPR was the political mouvement of Mobutu I was about 11.

My history teacher brought in a German M40 SD Luftwaffe helmet to class one day last semester, and after that I knew I had to get one for myself. My first item was an M34 Fire/Police helmet that I bought in an antique store for $450.00. I got ripped off, but I didn't know it at the time. 3 months later I now have an M40 SD Q64 Luft helmet, Luftschutz helmet, Police helmet with early decals, and I am planning on buying a double decal Heer in the next couple days. I sold my first helmet last month for $380.00, so I only lost $70.00. I am still glad I bought it though because it was what got me into collecting!

This is a picture I took of the helmet my teacher brought into class last semester that made me want to go out and buy one.
